Fathers & Festivals
Spa Blog By Annabel
June brings us the beginning of the Festival Season, certifying the start of the summer months with hopes of plenty of warmth and sunshine. For those who would rather steer clear of the musical madness, we are offering a more peaceful retreat to relax in.
Our outside hot tub is currently undergoing maintenance and should be fresh and ready for the 10th of June, in time to escape the upcoming masses the festival brings to the Island.
Fathers’ Day must not be overlooked in all the summer excitement either. As Mothers get treated on their day, so should the often neglected Fathers!! Watch this space for up-coming offers nearer the end of the month to treat the men who deserve it most.
Us Brits are known for bathing in even the slightest glimmer of sunlight and as June coaxes us outside, don’t be fooled by cooler temperatures. It is important to realise it is not the heat of the sun which burns our skin and causes irreversible damage but the Ultra-Violet light rays. This is why breezy sunny days can be the most harmful, as we don’t realise how much sun we are getting due to feeling cooler.
To avoid this happening, perhaps start the season with a lower factor than you would intend for sunbathing (if you do so) but go no lower than 15 SPF. Make sure as well that the brand you use protects from both UVA AND UVB rays, as both cause the damage.
We recommend 2015’s Grazia’s Summer Beauty Award Winner, Aroma Sun Expert Summer Oil by Decleor. It feels amazing on the skin thanks to the intensely conditioning Monoi Oil, protects from both UVA & UVB and is a defensive factor 30.
Retailing at £24 for 150ml, it’s a handy size for carrying around and as with all Decleor products, a little goes a long way.
